I chose to interpret the movie The Hours of Stephen Daldry because it has been with me for many years. The film is inspired by Virginia Woolf's flagship novel "Mrs Dalloway" that follows a woman's life for 24 hours. The story revolves around the trajectories of these three parallel women embodied by Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep at the top of their art. The film tells the disillusion, hopes and ghosts of the protagonists, as if each of it was the other, diving into a different temporality. Their destinies will also converge in a literary apotheosis where we find the 3 figures of creation: the writer, the reader and the character. I wanted to transcribe the atmosphere of the film through a series of contemplative paintings mixing fiction with the floral composition that I created with photographer Anna Leroy. I embark the melancholy character of Julianne Moore, the flowers suggest the pain of Living, the taste of words and the difficulty of being a woman, lover and mother. A beautiful meditation on the passing time, love, death through the story of a day in the lives of three powerful women.
